If an idea of home improvement came to your head, apart from new kitchen or bathroom, think also of your bedroom – you can completely change the look and feel of your bedroom at very minimal cost simply by purchasing new bedding and/or changing your cotton bedding to, for example, linen bed linen. Linen bedlinen sets are extremely popular nowadays and can alter the overall atmosphere in the room.

One faces hundreds upon hundreds of choices of all different colors and designs when trying to find something suitable for his or her tastes. Choices are, of course, wonderful, but when trying to make a decision, they have to be narrowed down. In fact, when buying quality – cotton or linen – bedlinen sets there are three main factors that comprise great bed sheets. They are: the material, the thread count and the hand.

1. The material is of top importance when considering your new bed linen. And here, as we said, cotton and linen bed linen are unbeatable. Polyester sheets are also an option, but they are harder to the feel and do not provide this luxurious feeling when are slept in. Pure cotton and linen bedding are advantageous as they whisk moisture away, making bed linen feel more inviting to the touch.

2. For high-quality sheets, choose one with a minimum of 200 thread count. The higher the thread count - the higher the quality of your bed linen sets. They are also more expensive. A low thread count tends to become stiffer and quickly fall out of favor. For best price and quality combination, most people tend to buy the 200-400 thread count level bed linen. This is how they maximize quality but minimize cost.

3. The last but not the least important factor is how the bed linen set feels to the touch. And this is affected by lots of things – whether the sheets are made of pure linen or cotton or a blend, what is the exact thread count, carding and combing, the type of weaving and the dying process itself.

There are other materials to choose from when altering your bedroom - such as flannel, silk and satin. The last two are clearly the most luxurious ones while flannel and linen bed sheets are comfortable, suitable and very nice to touch.

There may be lots of choices out there, but it‘s possible not be so overwhelmed. Narrow your criteria to material (choose cotton or linen bed linen), thread count (200-400) and the feel. Knowing this (and also setting a spending budget) will help a lot to choose your luxurious bedding easier.
