Linen, woven from fibres of the flax plant, is sometimes treated with sizing, a finish that makes it crisp. It wrinkles very easily and requires ironing if you want it to look smooth. But it doesn’t always need to look smooth since the wrinkles on linen can add a certain antique feeling.

- Washing linen bedding:
The fact about linen bedding is that the more it is washed, the softer and brighter it becomes. Linen products wash really well because the fabric is stronger wet than dry. A 60°C wash is usually effective on linen bedding since the surface of the flax fibre allows stains to be released easily. As linen is highly absorbent, it soaks up more water during the wash cycle than most other fibres and therefore washes better when the washing machine is not packed fully.
- Drying & Ironing
Linen sheet dry quickly. You can easily keep your white linen sheets white by simply line drying them in direct sunlight and flat drying delicate items can help prevent creasing. As we‘ve already mentioned, linen bedding doesn‘t always require ironing. Anyway, if you decide to iron your bedding, always iron linen bedding when damp, first on the wrong side to eliminate creases and then on the right side to enhance the fabric's natural sheen. A steam iron is the best choice when ironing pure linen.
- Caring for Linen
Store your linen bedding in open shelves since that allows the fabric to breathe and helps it stay soft and breathable. Linen sheets that stay in the same place for a long time should be re-folded every once in a while, to make sure they don‘t have heavy folding marks. Other than that, linen doesn‘t need any special care, so just let your bedding rest in the shelves and enjoy your bed decorated with the lovely and luxurious bedlinen.
